Just a few pics!

Here are a few pictures of my sugar baby! She's getting so big! She has started holding on to her feet with her hands. Addy's doctor told us at her last visit that she'd be sucking on her toes by her next visit! It sounds gross, but since she's a baby and doesn't walk around, I guess her toes are pretty clean.

Right now, she chews on her fingers every chance she gets. She started doing that around 2 months old though. Everyone tells me that she's teething. I see a little white spot in the center of her bottom gum, so maybe it won't be long before she has her first pearly white.

Adelyn really likes her chime garden. These flowers light up and play music. Plus, each flower has a different kind of material. Her favorite one is the one that makes a noise when you crinkle it.

First Week Review

The week isn't over, but I'm home today and Seth is home on Friday. Our little princess was a trooper. She fussed from time to time, but she made it through her first few days without momma. I had to come relieve Grandma a few hours earlier than planned on Wednesday, but Addy Rose made it through most of the day. Plus, I was more than ready to come home to her - I missed her a lot. She gave me the sweetest smile when I got home. She's been an angel today. We went to have her photos taken, and she smiled everytime! She normally tires of it quickly, but she was great the whole time.

She's getting so strong and funny. She's starting to sit up on her own. I always support her when she's sitting, but I've been taking my hand away and finding that she is supporting herself. This isn't a great pic of her, but you can see that she's sitting unassisted in the middle of her crib. I'll try to upload some more pics later.

For Great Granny

Great Granny requested more pictures of Adelyn and I - here's one just for her. Pray for me as I go back to work this week. I'm sure that mommy, daddy, Addy and Grandma Pam will all be stressed out at some point!

I will rejoice!

Today is the day that God hath made, and I will rejoice and be glad in it! The weather was great, my back is feeling better, and Adelyn has been in a great mood. I'm enjoying the weekend before Monday comes.

I was attempting to take some pictures of Adelyn in this fluffy skirt, because I think it is too cute! However, after a few shots, she decided she wanted to be in her new favorite position - on her belly. We always put her on her back for naps and at bedtime, but 8 out of 10 times she rolls over to her belly shortly after putting her down. This has resulted in longer naps, but it makes me nervous, and I have to check on her every few minutes. This face means that the photo shoot is over!

Adelyn discovered her feet this week. I put this cute new sandals on her to show Grandma Pam, and Adelyn really liked them. She kept holding her feet out in front of her to look at them. Then when I stood her up she kept looking at her feet.

Off to Church We Go!

Going to church has been interesting. I always love dressing her up, and she's seems to enjoy it for a little while. But, we always reach a point when Adelyn is tired of sitting in one spot. I don't want to stay in the sanctuary and disturb other people, but she's fine as soon as I'm standing up with her. I think our church needs a "standing" section. Anyway, I love how bright her eyes are in the pic, so I thought I'd post it. I know Great Granny checks the blog everyday - I'll have to get better at posting more often!

Rambling about stuff

I hate that I cut off the top of her head. I think this is such a good picture of Little Miss.

It is really neat to watch Adelyn grow and learn. She's been using her hands to play with stuff a lot more, and it is so cool to watch. She babbles all the time, and it really is the sweetest sound. She also screams like a little girl just for the sake of hearing herself scream. It is loud, high-pitched, and very funny.

We've slowly started feeding Addy rice cereal, and I can tell that it is not her favorite meal. She eats a little bit and decides that she's had enough. She does a good job of getting it all over her hands, face and bib though. She's not shy about letting me know that she's no longer happy!

I'm not looking forward to next week. I've only been away from Adelyn for about 3 hours, and that was only once. Next week, I'll be away from her for a whole work day! I know I'll miss her. I'm really glad that I'm only going back part-time. I hope I can make it through! I'll really miss things like this - I took this picture after we woke up. Adelyn is still in the bassinette, but I often put her in bed with me in the morning. She usually wakes up in a happy mood.

I've got a new computer, so I'm hoping to post pics more often!

Please Pray!

My brother, Justin, came over tonight, and he says he wants to quit smoking. I told him that I would pray for him. I thought it would also be a good idea to ask the people who read this blog to pray for him. While you're at it, Josh could use a prayer too. I'm afraid he's making decision that could really haunt him in the future. Thanks in advance and God Bless!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers I know, but especially to my own. My brothers, Josh and Justin, create more stress than any one person should have to endure. Throw into the mix that I am very particular about everything I'm involved with, and you've just got to admire my mom. I love her very much, and I hope she knows how much I appreciate her. Happy Mother's Day, Mom, from me, Seth and Adelyn. We love you bunches!

In addition to blessing me with a wonderful mom, God blessed me with the best husband in the world and again with the sweetest little girl... my cup runneth over. Sappy as it may sound, Seth really does complete me, and he is such a great daddy. I'm getting closer to Addy Rose everyday, and there's no doubt that I would lay down my life for this sweet baby girl. I am so blessed!

To all of you mothers - I've found out over the last four months how being a mom alters your life. In addition to all of the wonderful love and happiness, it is also a new responsibility that is never ceasing. So, to all of you, good job on performing the most rewarding and demanding job in the world! Happy Mother's Day!

4 Month Well Baby Visit!

Poor Baby Girl got 3 shots today, and she didn't like it one bit!!! She screamed like I've never heard her scream before. I felt so awful for her.

On to the more exciting news - Adelyn is 25.5 inches long (85th percentile) and 14 lbs 6 oz (60th percentile)! She's getting to be so big, which means MORE BABY TO LOVE!!! The doc said that Addy Rose looks great. She also said we can go ahead and try some rice cereal since we don't have a family history of food allergies. I have a feeling that Adelyn is ready to get her mouth around some food. I'll be sure to take some pics during the first feeding!

Our Sweet Baby Girl is 4 Months Old!

It is hard to believe that Baby Girl is already 4 months old. In one way, it seems like we've had her forever, but in another way it seems like just yesterday when we were in the hospital waiting to bring her home home. I saw a 1 month old baby today, and she seemed so tiny compared to Adelyn. She was 9 lbs, and I couldn't believe that Adelyn was only 6 lbs 13 oz at one point. Seth and I were recently looking at some of the pictures we took her during her first couple of months. She's changed and grown so much. All veteran parents that we talk to tell us, "They grow up too fast." It really is true.

I posted the above picture today because Adelyn looks like such a big girl in this picture. She loves to stand up with someone nearby to help her with the balance part. She'll be walking before I know it...

Happy Birthday Tonya and Great Granny!!

Tonya turned 29 (again) a few days ago and Great Granny (Grandma Rosie) turned 80 years old today!!! Great Granny can still run circles around most 50 year olds. We love them both bunches and hope that God blesses them abundantly this year! Here's a picture of Adelyn with Great Granny last week. Happy Birthday you guys!

I was shooting the video and kissing her, so the video is a little unsteady. It took a second to get her laughing again after getting the camera out. I hope you can hear her laugh. It is the sweetest sound.

Adelyn Rolled Over!!

I don't have any pics of the grand event, but little Addy Rose decided to roll over for the first time this morning! She's been thinking about rolling over for more than a week now. I have some cute videos and other pics that I want to post as soon as I make the time for it. If I don't get around to it this evening, I will in the next day or so.
