Just some pics!

Adelyn is doing great, and I thought I would just post a few pics that I've taken over the last week.

Adelyn really loves her playmat. She often smiles at the little ladybug and chick attatched to the bar!

This is one of my favorite outfits.

Adelyn is a true fan! She donned this outfit and yelled "Go Cats!" even after their loss!

I'm glad Adelyn supports the cats, but right now, the outfit just isn't girly enough. I need a UK blue headband.

What a pretty smile!

God Always Works Things Out

This week started out kind of stressful, but as usual, God always works things out. It is with a lot of sadness that Seth and I packed up their belongings and sent Caesar and Cleo back to Justin's house. We've cared for them for the last 19 months, but the time was right to let them go back to their first home. Justin just recently moved to a place where he could have them, and he wanted them. Seth and I miss them, but I know it is the right thing for right now. We'll probably wait until the little princess starts asking for a puppy before we get another one. After losing Gus in January to cancer, I think I may need a doggie break right now.

In Addy news... Adelyn went to the doctor on Monday, and got three shots. The poor little thing had real tears in her eyes. I think it hurt Seth and I worse than it hurt her though. She weighed in at 11 lbs. 5 oz! That's 4 lbs more than her last appointment. She right around the 50th percentile for weight and 60th percentile for height. It is amazing how fast the time has gone by. Here are a few pics of Miss Adelyn.

Too bad that I cut off the top of her head on this one! She was smiling and everything!
You can really see how much she looks like Seth in this picture!

I love this striped turtleneck. The colors are so pretty together, and the stripes match the flowers going down the legs of her pants. This isn't the best pic, but I thought I'd post it anyway...

I have the hardest time keeping her fingernails short. I have to clip or file them every few days, and it is hard! You can see the tiny scratch she gave herself right between her eyebrows.

I don't remember what I did to make her laugh, but I was quick with the camera this time.

Growing up too fast!

Adelyn gets more fun everyday. Sometimes it is hard to believe that she is still so young. Over the last week she has become much more "talkative". Her favorite thing/sound to say/make is "hey". I know it will be a long time before she says actual words, but hearing her little voice is so sweet.

Here are a couple of pictures I snapped this morning while we were getting ready for church. This hat was too big to wear in church, but it was cute anyway.

I took this pic for Tonya. She's wearing her sweet baby bunny dress. She cried everytime I tried to put the matching hat on her. I figured I'd try another day.

That's all the pics for now. In other news, please say a prayer for my Grandfather. He lives in Reno, NV and had an aneurism. Also, please pray for my mom's safety as she travels to Reno to be with him.

A good night of rest! Woohoo!

It is hard to believe how fast time is going by. Adelyn will be 8 weeks old on Tuesday! It is amazing how much she is changing. For one thing, the tiny little baby we brought home (less than 7 lbs when we left the hospital) is seeming much more substantial these days when I pick her up. We went ahead and switched to size 2 diapers expecting that they might seem a little big, but they actually fit pretty well. That makes me wonder if she might be a little closer to 12 lbs than I thought.

Another change, Adelyn has always done fairly well at night, but last night she did really well. She woke up once between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. It is amazing what a 4 hour stretch of sleep will do for you when you're not used to getting that much sleep all at once. I hopped out of bed this morning feeling great. Adelyn and Daddy are still sleeping. :)

I thought I would post a few more pics while I had a minute. Adelyn doesn't really like having her clothes changed, but I'm hoping to have a mini fashion show soon. I'm usually more of a shutterbug when she's hanging out in her sleeper before bedtime, so I need to snap some pics of how cute she looks in some of her outfits. Baby girl's clothes are so adorable.

Adelyn is lying on the pretty blanket that Aunt Katie made her. It's very soft!

Grandma Shreffler bought Adelyn this snowsuit for Christmas (yes, she got Christmas gifts before she was born). We put her in it the other day. We took the 2nd picture to show how big it is on her. The length of her whole body, arms and legs included, fit in the body part of the suit. The tag says 0-3 mos, but Seth and I are sure that this would fit a lot of babies at a year old! It is so cute though. It even has a little tail on the back.
