Just hanging out...

First of all, I just want to say that I'm so happy that Adelyn's Illinois family members have the blog address. Since we don't get to see you in person that often, pictures are a good way for you to see how Little Miss is doing and all the stuff she's getting into. She's getting funnier all the time. She's been crawling well and pulling up for several weeks. She pulls up on everything and stands up all the time. She will even crawl over to the wall and use it for support to stand up. She does a fake laugh that is pretty funny, and she's been dancing when she hears music. I'm going to try to get the dancing on video tomorrow.

Here's Adelyn after church today. She was so sleepy and wouldn't flash a sweet smile for her daddy. Speaking of sleepy - Addy Rose slept for 11 hours straight last night. That isn't an accomplishment for most babies, but for this little firecracker, that's wonderful! She's just so active, and she really doesn't seem to require much sleep.

I finally took the time to make a bow/headband for the baby girl. While I was making it, Daddy put these blue tights on Adelyn's head. Does she look like a thug baby? I think you can really see how much she looks like Seth in this picture.

Here's the finished product. It took me way too long to produce this. I decided if I quit my job and started selling these that I'd have to charge about $100 each to make it worth my time... It looks like I better keep doing bank exams and buying my bows from the experts.

Happy Birthday Daddy (Seth)!

It is hard to believe that a whole year has passed since Seth's last birthday. I believe what others have told me for years - the older you get, the faster time seems to go by. Daily I feel blessed to have such a wonderful husband, and I know Addy is a very fortunate little girl because her daddy loves her very much. Happy Birthday to my sweetheart! Addy and I love you very much!

Here's Adelyn in her home-made car. Whenever the clothes baskets are out, Addy crawls over to climb on/in them. This time Daddy made her a car out of it. She giggled when he pulled her around in it.

A little sippy cup action... Adelyn shows a lot of interest whenever I'm drinking water. I usually give her little sips, but this is much easier for her to manage on her own.

Karate Kid?

Seth and I were talking about the kind of activities we'd like to involve Addy in when she gets older. Of course we want her to be involved in church and learn about God, but we were also thinking it would be cool to take her to karate lessons! I don't think she'll need any encouragement - she likes to inflict pain on her poor daddy.

Here's a picture from our visit with Great Granny Rosie this week. All the excitement wore Addy Rose out. She was asleep as soon as we got in the van!

I have several more pics that I'd like to post, but I need to get ready for church now. I spend a lot of time styling Adelyn's hair. :) Bald is beautiful!

A Baby Changes Everything!

I was remembering how thrilled Seth and I were to find out that we would be having a baby! She is such a blessing to us and we love having her, but we are constantly amazed at how every aspect of our lives have changed. There are definitely big changes like the feeling of being a parent, so many new responsibilities, new work schedules/sleep schedules and the list goes on, but there are small changes too like the arrangement of our furniture. Our formal living room used to have an area rug and a round glass table in the center. It is now adorned with a large quilt and toys everywhere. You'll see the glass table in the picture below that used to be in the center of the room - we haven't found a new home for it yet. Adelyn loves to crawl under it. We usually just grab her and put her back on the quilt, but I decided to let her have her fun yesterday and take a few pics in the process. We usually pull her nightgowns up to her waist to make crawling a little easier.

We went to visit Great Granny today. It was great to see her and Tonya and Cohen. Grandma Rosie was especially excited to Adelyn squeal like a big girl! I hope to get some video posted soon of her voicing her opinion!

Look at this big girl digging toys out of her toy basket. She picked them out one by one. She'd play with it for a minute, give it a little chew and go to the next one.

It looks like she's giving this teething ring a really hard look. Maybe she heard about the toy recall when she was watching TV with Grandma Pam today.

Adelyn has never shown an interest in a pacifier until recently.

Adelyn Rose is 7 Months Old!

It is so hard to believe that Adelyn Rose is already 7 months old! The last half part of the year always flies by, so I know that before I know it, I'm going to be saying that I can't believe that she's a year old. Here a few more pictures of our trip to Illinois. Little Miss did not sleep in this crib at Grandma's, but I did set her down in it for a second while I changed my shirt. She popped right up and stoop up as soon as I sat her down. She's pulling up and climbing on everything and everyone! She's been crawling more in the past few days too. She is really getting fast.

Adelyn has 5 cousins in Illinois, and they can't get enough of her. Her she is with cousin Brody at Grandma's. Unfortunately, we don't have many pictures of her with her other relatives because she decided to really be a Mommy's girl during this visit.

Speaking of cousins, I don't think I've announced on the blog that Adelyn is going to have a new cousin next year. Please pray for a healthy pregnancy and baby for Uncle Josh and Aunt Jessica. We're very excited for them. By that time, Addy will probably be very interested in other babies.

Another Trip to Grandma's House

I'll probably post some other pics later, but here are a few of my pretty, pretty princess. We visited Seth's family this weekend, which meant another long car ride. At least Mom was more comfortable riding in the minivan than riding in the back of the Trailblazer.

She knows this is not the proper way to ride in a car seat, but we were hanging out in the car for a few minutes.
