To be a baby!
Babies are so neat, and smart. They do what feels good in life. They don't worry about who is watching or what others might think. Yesterday, in Kroger, I gave her a biter biscuit while we shopped. She managed to get it all over her face, hands and clothes. Did she care? Heck no, it tasted good. People looked at her and laughed and smiled. She didn't care that she was a mess! I gave her some steamed squash today. She didn't care that she had it on her nose. She only cared that it was yummy!
I first posted about my attempt at bow making months ago. Well, I've stayed with it. I've gotten better at it, and I love doing it. If only I could make a living this way... Here is a snowman bow that I made. I've started selling bows to help pay for the cost of ribbon since I have to buy it in quantities bigger than I need for just Adelyn.

New Friends :)
Adelyn and I have made new friends! Whitney (not pictured) and Maria (the cutie below with Adelyn) are great, and I loved spending time with this afternoon. Whitney and I were born on the exact same day, and Adelyn and Maria are just over 1 month apart in age.
Look at my little stinker trying to take Maria's headband. Maria was such a good girl and never took it off. I've given up putting them on Adelyn. She instantly takes them off to play with them.

Maria is another blue-eyed beauty, and she's so sweet!
This is the first time Adelyn has really played with another baby. She smiled a lot, and I think they had a good time.
Wouldn't it be neat if these two girls grow up as friends and then and could look back to these pictures when they first met each other at less than 1 year old?

Mmm, puzzle pieces make good snacks!

Thanks again for having us over, Whitney!
Her First Steps! and Halloween Presents?
We knew they were coming because Adelyn has been standing up for longer and longer periods. She took her first steps yesterday, and she's taken a few steps a time several times since then. I don't have video of the walking yet, but I do have some more pictures of her standing up.
Grandma Pam brought Adelyn this chair with Cinderella on it for Halloween... Addy Rose looks too cute sitting in her very own chair.
She also brought her a singing Mickey Mouse. It sings several songs including Ring Around the Rosie, but instead of ashes, ashes, it says 1-2-3... I'm not sure why.

Look, Mom, NO HANDS!
Adelyn has been standing for a few seconds at a time for a while now, but those standing periods are getting longer and longer. Of course, I'm never prepared with the camera when she's doing her best tricks. Yesterday before her bath I did have the camera, and I got a few shots of the Little Miss standing.
I caught her on the way down on this one.
Two words... Laid back!
Look at this little girl reading - she doesn't care that the book is upside down. :)

My Skinny Minnie is 9 months old!!
This picture above is another example of Adelyn not wanting something on her head. You can see her pulling on this scarf. The picture below was taken right after the one on top. Look at her cheeks - she's smiling because she pulled the scarf off.
Happy Columbus Day!

One little, two little, three little...
Teeth! After having her 2 bottom teeth for months, 2 more have broken the surface on the top. Tooth number 5 will not be far behind as I can already see it. If you enlarge the first and third pictures you can see the top tooth.

I know a few of you have mentioned Adelyn's bow collection. Well, the sad truth is that Addy Rose is getting bigger, smarter, and she knows what she likes and doesn't like. She used to never pull at the headbands, but she's started objecting to my accessorizing lately. In the pic below she decided to wear the bow as a necklace. But, more often than not lately, she just pulls them off and puts them in her mouth. I've tried to explain to her that mommy has worked hard on her bows and they are meant to be worn on her head, but she doesn't really care.
The one little, two little reference is pulling double duty. I was talking about teeth earlier, but I also have a little video of Adelyn sounding like an Indian Chief! Her Great Grandfather was a full-blooded Cherokee... I'll put the video in it's own post since it is easier for me that way!
